“Hi there Portugal. We are W&W and for the very first time we will be playing in Solaris Sunset Empire.”

In 2007, Willem van Hanegem & Ward van der Harst came together to form W&W. They haven’t looked back since. The past years, this Dutch production and DJ duo have transcended the boundaries of genre and traverse the globe with their music and performances.

W&W combine the uplifting and melodic elements of trance with the raw intensity of electro and progressiveness of house to create a sound that is uniquely their own.

Infectious, rebellious and highly energetic, their list of productions is championed by the likes of Hardwell, Armin van Buuren, Tiësto, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, David Guetta and more, for its breadth, diversity and massive appeal to multiple audiences.

The massive hit “Bigfoot” came out in February 2014, becoming #1 at Beatport.  In 2015, they continued their success by releasing major tracks like “Rave After Rave” and “The One”.

As DJs, currently ranking #14 in the DJ Mag Top 100, they are also dominating dance floors and festivals around the world. W&W were the first ever dance music acts to perform at a Major League Baseball stadium when they took over Philadelphia Phillies Citizen’s Bank Ball Park.

Since October 2014, W&W have their own radio show on SLAM!. They started 2016 with ‘Arcade’, a new collaboration with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, and a vocal solo single ‘How Many’. Next to those, their special “Festival Mixes’”of Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” and Adele’s “Hello” have also been doing major damage recently.

W&W were one of the highlights of their killer Ultra Music Festival set in Miami.

“Hey Portugal. My name is Tchami and I will be in Praia da Rocha with you for the return of Solaris.”

Under the stage name Tchami, Parisian DJ Martin Bresso produces what he refers to as “future house,” a blend of smooth, uplifting deep house with more flashy EDM tendencies. Originally known for remixes and sample-based tracks, Tchami has achieved chart success with singles that feature guest vocals by Kaleem Taylor and Stacy Barthe, which have rather melancholic lyrical themes.

Tchami co-produced three tracks on Lady Gaga‘s 2013 album, ARTPOP. He began producing remixes and original tracks that year, releasing the tracks “Promesses” and “Shot Caller” as a free digital single. Both tracks were later re-released as stand-alone singles and became successful, with “Promesses” hitting the Top Ten of the U.K. singles chart. “Untrue” also appeared in 2014, and “After Life” and “Missing You” followed in 2015.

After taking several months off, Tchami returned in 2016 with the singles “SIAW” and “Prophecy,” with Malaa. He also joined Malaa, DJ Snake, and Mercer on their collective Pardon My French tour. The following year he delivered the Revelations EP, which included collaborations with Luke James and Taiki Nulight.

This talented DJ and producer captured lots of attention, early in his career, thanks to a series of fantastic mash-ups. “What’s up Portugal. My name is Michael Calfan and I will be in Praia da Rocha for this massive celebration. See you on the 14th of August”.

Michael Calfan

In a world saturated with social media entertainers and self-inflated superstars, Michael Calfan is an artist who brings a fresh perspective to the electronic music climate. His attitude is about having fun and not taking life too seriously, while creating music with feeling, depth and emotion. “I find inspiration in all kinds of art, anything with emotion. Maybe I’m idealistic but I want to give people feelings; create memories and nostalgia. Sometimes music is just about going out and having a good time, but if I can evoke real emotions then that’s something special."

Hits like Treasured Soul, Nobody Does It Better and Thorns have helped create a lot of those nostalgic moments for people. They have garnered chart positions, millions upon millions of streams and helped to make Michael one of the most sought-after DJs around. His touring schedule confirms this, with appearances at almost every major music festival and DJ sets at the most incredible clubs around the world. And yet this French superstar manages to keep a clear head and his feet firmly on the ground.

Michael’s outlook is all about taking time to connect with his fans, enjoy his hobbies of skating, photography, art and fashion, all while travelling the globe and sampling everything the local culture has to offer. “I am blessed to travel the world and to play music to all kinds of people. Bringing people together and having a shared experience with them is amazing. I don’t drink or take drugs, for me this is enough of a high. And when I’m not performing I just do normal things. I skate, I eat good food, I take in as much culture as I can.” It’s a refreshing attitude from someone who got caught up in music when he was just fifteen. Especially for an artist who has now racked up a catalogue of hits alongside official remixes for the likes of Duke Dumont, The Magician and Major Lazer.

The start of the New Year marks a return to the dance scene with a blistering new sound, the urban infused single ‘On You’. Michael took inspiration from some of his earliest musical influences of hip-hop and created a distinctly ‘Housier’ sound. “I would say the sound of my new single is Urban House. It has a little bit of House Music and a little bit of Urban influence. I am trying to be more experimental in my production and there is a lot more maturity in my sound.”

Indeed, the single marks a development in Michael’s sound, showcasing smooth RnB vocals reminiscent of his previous works. ‘On You’ displays his power to crossover from the mainstream to the underground, exhibiting his dedication to create a fresh musical output for 2018.

Michael Calfan has made an incredible impact on the house music, going as far as coining his own sub-genre, Soul House. But for him the key is to keep moving forward: “I don’t only make dance music. I produce pop, sometimes hip-hop, sometimes disco. It gives me a lot of freedom.” That’s an outlook that stands this incredible artist in good stead. As the world of dance music pushes forward at a terrifying rate, Michael Calfan simply takes it in his stride.

“Hi there Solarians. I am Mike Williams and I will be playing for you on the 15th of August at Solaris Sunset Empire. See you guys soon.”

Mike Williams

From the first musical note that he’s ever written, to the smallest detail in his live shows, his commitment towards everything that his fans get to experience is seemingly endless. He’s one of the very few artists to break through with a signature sound, and his distinctive ‘bounce’ has had an important repercussion. Mike Williams‘ true trademarks have always been his sense of serenity and ever-present modesty.

The summer of ‘17 is one for the books, as it takes him across Europe – including Mysteryland, Parookaville and Tomorrowland, as well as his UK festival debut at Creamfields.
Mike played several shows across Europe, before jetting off to America for the Miami Music Week. He played five highly-anticipated shows, including Sam Feldt’s Heartfeldt Pool Party.

This all followed a year in which his equally relentless touring schedule led him to perform in Ultra Music Festival Miami mainstages. Closer to home, his profile has continued to grow. He’s played Amsterdam’s 17,000 capacity Ziggo Dome twice, and even hosted his own showcase at Amsterdam Dance Event 2016.

Released in early 2016, ‘Sweet and Sour’ kickstarted the year in a fantastic way, getting support from dance music heavyweights such as Hardwell, Oliver Heldens and Afrojack. But it was Mike’s collaboration with his mentor Tiësto that really catapulted the young Dutch DJ into the limelight. Released in the height of summer 2016, ‘I Want You’ has received critical acclaim. The track achieved over than 24 million plays on Spotify alone, and continues to be one of Mike’s noteworthy tracks to date. Following this success, he joined Tiësto on tour, performing at superclubs like Hakkasan, Omnia and Wet Republic.

During the thriving success of ‘I Want You’, Mike released his single ‘Take Me Down’ – his debut track on Spinnin’ Records. Splashing a bold display of his production efforts, the dance floor anthem received support from the likes of R3hab, Axwell and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, and continues to gain hundreds of thousands of plays online. Building on these great achievements received in 2016, Mike started 2017 with his single ‘Bambini’. The energetic track was released on Musical Freedom and became a fan favourite amongst Mike’s supporters and loyal followers.

In May of 2017, Mike released the single ‘Don’t Hurt’ , which featured the vocal talents of rising singer Brēzy. Keeping with the emotive theme of ‘Another Night’, ‘Don’t Hurt’ explores his ability to produce a poignant, dancefloor-ready track.
He’s also displayed his effortless remixing abilities on numerous dance hits. He’s delivered remixes for fellow Spinnin’ signee Throttle (‘Money Maker’) and Oliver Heldens & Tiësto (‘The Right Song’), both of whom play Mike’s versions live in their sets. Recently, Mike has been handpicked by Grammy-nominated duo Galantis to create an official remix of their latest single, ‘Hunter’, while R3hab also enlisted the Dutch DJ to provide a clever rework of his track ‘Trouble’ .

Mike growned up in a musical family, trainning classical piano from a young age. However, he was really interested in creating his own music. He began working on a laptop, using his dad’s speakers and amplifier, learning to DJ at the age of 12. He began getting booked for events as a teenager, sharing the stage with DJs like Martin Garrix, Jay Hardway and Yellow Claw.

To document his incredible journey, he has enlisted the support of his videographer sister Michelle. Shot through her eyes, ‘On Tour with Mike Williams’ is a monthly look into the life of the producer, shining a light over his hectic schedule, as he travels the world. In addition to his video series, Mike curates his own weekly radio show, named ‘Mike Williams On Track’.
Mike’s flourishing music career is a testament to his passion for music and his dedication to his fans. Together with the demand for his live performances and several upcoming releases in the pipeline, Mike is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Equipped for the next chapter ahead, all eyes will be on him.

Back in the studio, there’s a lot more to come from the rising star in 2018.

The sand of Praia da Rocha holds a lot of big treasures!

Praia da Rocha

The sand of Praia da Rocha hides great treasures!

In fact it wasn’t necessary to go through Praia da Rocha with metal detectors. We just had the word spread, from north to south of the country. The speculation of the treasures and knowledge that Praia da Rocha hides has left the more skeptics even more skeptical and the curious ones, even more curious.

It was news in all media and, in the most relevant journals, they state that the deepest oceans are starting to shake and the tides of luck started to oscilate already. We are now assured that this will be the best summer ever. Why is that so?

The Solaris Empire, God of the Sun, is about to be born in Praia da Rocha. The prophecy that all living things become pure will happen again. For 2 days you will hear the sound of the best music, dance with the sun and vibrate with the energies. This is the best time to feel alive.

“HI Portugal. I’m Trobi and I can’t wait to be part of this epic journey in Praia da Rocha. I will see you there in Solaris Sunset Empire.”

Only 18 years old, Trobi is already a rising star. Born as Bryan du Chatenier, he started DJ’ing at the age of 9, and he started making his own music when he was just 12 years old. The rising Dutch artist has received wide attention with his productions in the commercial Deep House scene.

The young star has a strong coach in the form of well-known producer Boaz van de Beatz, and he is managed by the renowned Dutch artist Peter Gelderblom.

Besides that, Spinnin’ Records recently added Trobi to a new platform called Spinnin’ NEXT, a talent pool for young and upcoming producers.

With his first EP, named“Be Free”, he got supported by well-known DJs, such as Diplo, Hardwell and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. Besides his own tracks, Trobi also produced for one of the biggest Dutch rappers called “Ronnie Flex”. Trobi received his first golden record, for a track that he produced for Ronnie Flex, called “Red Me”. His second golden record, also with Ronnie Flex, called 4/5, reached the golden status in just two weeks!

His latest collaboration is with J Alvarez, and will come out shortly. In short, a new prodigy on arrival. Trobi’s future is looking bright, as he will be releasing more exciting new tracks on Spinnin’ Records.

“What’s up Portugal? My name is Juicy M and I will be at Solaris Sunset Empire for something truly epic.“

Everyone knows Juicy M, ever since, in 2013, she released her first mixing video, recording on 4 CDJs. In the same year, she released her first bootleg on Major Lazer’s ‘Bumaye’.

Back in 2007, she started playing hip hop on real vinyls, with DJs Snake, Sub Zero and Cut Killer. You can clearly hear hip hop influences in her sets now, this strictly-dance maximum-energy live-mashuping half- track mixing. It’s something she brought to the scene… You can hate it or love it, but you’ll never stay indifferent.

Her main challenge, in the Era of electronic dance music, is music production. She managed to open her own record label – JUMMP Records. Juicy M did a few collaboration tracks with young producers like her.

JUMMP Records became a starting platform for young talents like Angemi, JuicyTraxx, JapaRoll, among others. Luckily, it helped Juicy M to get noticed by Armada Music, with whom she signed a worldwide deal. The first track, called ‘Skies’, featuring awesome vocals from ENDEMIX, is set to release, in late 2015.

“Hi Portugal. I am Chico Rose and I will join you for this amazing experience that is Solaris Sunset Empire.”

Chico Rose is a 24-year-old DJ and Producer. Everything that this Artist, also known as Chico de Reus, has achieved this year is amazing.

Afrojack recognized his talent and soon it came to the point where he decided to get Chico Rose on board. This has given him the opportunity to share the stage with some of the biggest names in the scene.

His musical passion started in 2010, after his dad bought him his first DJ-set. Shortly after, Chico Rose began producing his own music, made him come to the realization that DJ-ing was his true passion. Once Chico Rose graduated from high school, he made the decision to take a year off, to fully focus on producing music
